In 2018, the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) reported that over 80 million adults suffer from anxiety disorder. Fifty percent of people diagnosed with anxiety disorder also suffer from depression. Seventy five percent of people in developing countries that are suffering from mental disorders remain untreated. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that anxiety disorders are the most common mental disorder worldwide.  Therapy, medication, magnetic stimulation and other alternative treatments are methods that may not be efficient to enable satisfactory improvement. People who suffer from mental illnesses need to change their lifestyles and adopt certain habbits and behaviors that will build their self esteem and revitalize their lives. We need family structures to create unbreakable bonds that will last a lifetime. Medications are not always the solutions for anxiety attacks and depression.


Depression is mostly stemmed from not being able to have certain things that are required, not being able to share a healthy relationship with someone that you truly care for or not being able to be where you really and truly belong.. Depression may also be caused from not fully understanding or accepting certain situations that occur in your life.  When you’re unable to work towards your dreams and aspirations, you may become completely dismal and later withdrawn. Depression is also caused from not feeling accepted by society because of your beliefs, ethnicity, culture or nationality.  Oftentimes, depression may be caused from stereotype, prejudice and segregation. Most importantly, depression is caused from fear due to lack of stability.
The current poverty rate in the United States Is astounding. The official poverty rate is 12.7 percent, based on the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2016 estimates. Approximately 43.1 million Americans lived in poverty. When people are unable to acquire basic needs in order to survive, the majority of them become complacent. People need stability. They need more job opportunities and financial resources.
In today’s society, people are also expected to behave in a certain manner to be considered as normal. This stigma affects employment dramatically. Many people may not agree with the majority of the population in regards to religion . They may have a vision or concept of their own and therefore are considered to be hallucinating, daydreaming or procrastinating. Because of this false assumption many people become anti-social and fall into depression.  We should not need to live up to other people’s expectation.


Stereotype includes gender inequality which is the unequal treatment or perceptions of individuals wholly or partly due to their gender.  Oftentimes, people may be treated indifferently in society because of their ethnicity, age, gender, background or culture. A majority of people have not been able to gain employment or have been terminated from their jobs due to stereotype and prejudice dilemmas; they end up feeling rejected, despondent, discouraged, and totally depressed.


On the other hand, sexual orientation sometimes causes indifferences. A lot of people assume that they have the right to decide the sexual preference of another individual including homosexuality, heterosexuality or bisexuality but we have to be tolerant of other individuals personal preferences based on their beliefs. These people are sometimes bombarded with threats or treated with animosity and are forced to go into isolation or remain”in the closet“ to avoid confrontations.
Some cases of depression are developed by eating unhealthily or dieting to lose weight. Most of the popular diet pills cause extreme depression, mood swings, irritability and anxiety attacks which may cause individuals to lash out at people or become completely withdrawn. Read all labels of diet supplements carefully and do researches in regards to the side effects of over the counter or prescription pills before purchasing or taking.  Inform your physician if you have tight chest or feelings of anxiety. If you choose to manage or lose weight without taking pills, try to eat a balance meals with less calories and drink 6-8 glasses of water so as not to become dehydrated and irritated.
Financial hardships may also put stress on your relationship and create conflicts. If you’re in a relationship and is being mentally or physically abused, this could greatly affect your wellbeing and cause you to become even more  stress  If you‘re not in a relationship, you could be suffering from depression due to feelings of loneliness. However, use this time to reevaluate your life and make changes.


Depression may even be caused from regression - reflecting to much on the past and failing to move forward.
Oftentimes people remain in denial and refuse to admit to themselves that they are seriously suffering from depression. It is recommended that you seek the help of a certified physician or psychologist; do not overeat, abuse drugs or alcohol to solve it.  However, changing your lifestyle may be the ultimate change that you need.


One of the best ways to get rid of depression is to become more active Exercise workouts such as indoor or outdoor cycling increases dopamine and creates a natural adrenaline rush that causes you to experience a “happy feeling”.  If you are focused on losing weight you will also see significant results after several weeks. Workout moderately for at least 3 times weekly using days in between for recovery.


Secondly. spend more quality time with your family. Outdoor activities such as camping and picnics create special bonds and allow you to become one with nature. Enjoy the fresh air while walking or sitting in the park. Fresh air, purified water and exercise are vital for life.  If you reside in the city or heavily populated areas, consider investing in an air filter. Fresh oxygen to the brain helps to decrease symptoms of extreme anxiety and depression.


Thirdly, strive to become more relax and calm . Drink warm tea regularly. such as once or twice daily. Tea for relaxation includes chamomile, peppermint, lemon balm and passion  flower. Lemon balm tea elevates the mood ard reverse irritability  Passion flower tea induces a restful sleep.  These teas alleviate stress and reduces irritability; they are not known for causing harmful or adverse side effects as they are mostly caffeine free. Warm milk with cinnamon or nutmeg also calms the mind. Make certain that you get at least 8 hours of sleep daily as lack of sleep causes restlessness, irritability, forgetfulness and skin problems. You may suffer from weakness and fatigue which greatly affects the immune system leading to various illnesses.


Surround yourself with positive people. People who find faults with you and constantly put you down will cause you to feel worthless and become infuriated. Most of the times these people are not even in control of their own lives. Do not compete with “the Jones”. You may never measure up to their standard no matter how hard you try. Its best to simply be yourself and be thankful for life.  Having good health is far better than material gains. The trouble is not worth it.  Most importantly, never associate with people who always expect your time and generosity without giving back anything in return.


Surround yourself with nature. Plant a flowers or vegetable garden and watch as everything comes to life. It is quite and ecperience. Remove weeds out of your gsrden snd ss you do focus on getting rid of all negative energy I’m your life.
Join a support group. They are many online support groups for grief counseling, alcoholism and drug abuse. You may remain anonymous and still participate. Call a prayerline and ask someone to pray for you. You can also privately list your prayer request on most prayerline websites . The outcomes are astounding and so phenomenal.
Set long term and short term goals and work towards accomplishimg them. You will reap the intrinsic and extrinsic rewards eventially. Also write down your shortcomings and try to become a better person. You can evolve and transform your kife more than once during a lifetime.


Take up a hobby just for fun such as reading, poetry writing, or painting.
Take a few minutes to listen to someone else’s problem. You will come to realize that you are actually bless.
Although it’s good to spend quiet moments by yourself to reflect on life, try spending time with other people. There is a thin line between meditation and worry. Try to recognize it.


Join reputable  dating sites. Get to know and associate with new people. Just take life in strides. Do not rush into serious relationships; simply enjoy light conversations and probably date once in a while. Do not easily become committed. Just enjoy delicate moments. Give yourself time.
Contact childhood friends. Sometimes you need to be reminded who you are. Past schoolmates may bring back fond memories that you shared together and bring back laughter and joy in your life.
Adopt a pet. It feels wonderful to give love and get back love in return. Most pets are easy to cuddle and love affection. They remain loyal even when human beings are so unpredictable
Enjoy your children, grandchildren or consider adopting a child. Children comes with great responsibility but are capable of bringing so much joy in your life.
Quit your job especially if it is stressful, aggravating or demands too much of your time.  The job that you choose should not just offer financial stability but fulfillment. Go back to school. It helps to occupy your time and may open up more door for opportunities that are even more rewarding.
Always learn something new whether it be a new recipe or another language. Your life will become more interesting.
Buy yourself something special that you always wanted. You deserve the best that life has to offer. You are bless.


Get rid of clutter. Donate things you do not need to someone who really needs them. Contribute to a charity of interest.  Do not keep your home dark and isolated. Open the curtains, let the sunlight in. Keep your surroundings clean. It will greatly improve your health and your zest for life.
Speak what’s on my mind. Do not keep things arbored nside. It only promotes hatred and causes you to become less tolerant and mean.


Other Basic Methods To Improve Your Life
1. Listen non-melancholy music
2. Take leisurely walks.
3. Go for a drive by the beachside or go .
4. Check out the movies.
5. Practice doing puzzles.
6. Start a blog or keep a journal or diary.
7. Treat yourself to a day at the spa.
8. Purchase and use aromatherapy candles.
9. Indulge yourself in rose petal or comforting baths
10. Smile..you will be surprise to know how much smiling can make a difference.
Most importantly, finish what you started then you will begin to feel happy and significantly complete.
